Our Background as follows:
I Started out running Quicken
for DOS. We bought every "upgrade" until Quicken
Deluxe 2012, then realized we were going backwards as Quicken
was going to hell. We Settled on Quicken
98 deluxe and still use it, We import data from bank accounts and credit card transactions in the old QIF format.it works fine if you can get the data source in that format
As you know Quicken
has changed their QIF format several times for no apparent purpose other than to force people to "upgrade". a strategy that never works in the long run. I like the original QIF format and we have standardized on Quicken
98 deluxe. The rest of Quicken
Now here come the banks, offering PDF files (sort of ) and Quicken
QFX formats. The same information, just incompatible among our various workstations
Our original work around was to first scan, OCR and reformat pdf files. Later when Quicken
came out with another version of incompatible Qif files, We built a Converter using AWK.. Now Visa appears to have introduced another "improved" format, VCF
I dot give a rats about the new, improved formats and their alleged efficiency. We dot write software for fun or profit. We buy what we need, pay cash and dot pass it around.
I am happy to buy software (hopefully yours) that converts the jumble of credit card and bank statement formats into an old fashioned QIF format that Quicken
98 can read and import into my registers.
