Quickbooks adds a banking account that doesn't even exist

I'm having an issue with software that is preventing me from using it (and
from seeing the value in buying it).

When I import the records to QuickBooks it adds them a banking account that
doesn't even exist.  It creates a 'Wells Fargo' bank account and adds them
there.  That is not my bank and I have never banked with Wells Fargo.

How to I get the software to import the items into my bank account in

Hello John,

Before saving the QBO file, you may change INTU.BID (default 3000, Wells Fargo). Click the Look Up and look for your bank. If your bank is not listed, keep the default value or select any other listed bank. The setting is related only to the QBO file to 'allow' your file to be imported - you will choose the account during import.

On the import screen you may select create new account (which you did), or select existing account to import into.

Please do the following to fix the issue.

  • Start QuickBooks and open the chart of accounts
  • Select new account and delete it
  • Select the account you need to import to and check if it has the yellow strike icon beside it. If it has, edit the account, click on the Online Services tab, select "Remove/Delete online services link" and save the changes.
  • Load the QBO file again and choose option to import into existing account, select your from the dropdown list.
