Convert CSV General Journal Entries to QBJ and import into Quickbooks Desktop

This tutorial shows how to convert CSV general journal entry file to QBJ and import into Quickbooks Desktop. We will use the CSV2QBJ utility. IMPORTANT: CSV2QBJ is replaced with the ProperConvert app that supports more formats and conversion modes.

Step by step instructions for Windows

Follow the steps below for the Windows version, followed by the Mac version.

Make sure you are using the latest version of CSV2QBJ. Download it from the CSV2QBJ download page. Start CSV2QBJ and select the CSV or Excel file.

Review transactions before converting.

Set the Company Name and Company ID, if you needed.

Click the 'Convert' button to create a QBJ file.

Confirm the file name and location.

Import created QBJ file into Quickbooks

Now the QBJ file is created, let's switch to Quickbooks and import created QBJ file. Backup your QuickBooks data file before importing. To import a QBJ file, select 'File' - Utilities' - 'Import' - 'General Journal Entries'. And select created QBJ file.

Click 'Add general journal entry' and confirm that you are importing this file.

Now your data is imported.

Click the 'Company' - 'Make General Journal Entries'.

Import created QBJ file into Quickbooks
