import history for credit card going back 5 years

It seems I can only get most recent 3 months of credit card history from
bank to import into Quicken.  The rest in pdf.  So I used nitro to
convert to Excel and CSV2... QIF and QFX.  I tried 2QIF first, not
realizing I would not be able to import credit card history with qif
format.  But seemed qfx should work.  So I created the files and they
gave .qfx extensions, but when I try to import from Quicken they do not
show up even though I see them in directory.

Am I doing something wrong?

Should I be able to import history for cc going back 5 years for
example?

Is there a service where I can retrieve my complete history for a cc
even though the bank will only provide 3 months in a useful format?

Thanks

Hello Jim,

I would suggest to use CSV2QIF instead for your case. QIF files are easier to import. CSV2QIF creates importable QIF files for all account types.

Quicken would not let me import qif credit card transactions.
Jim,

you just need to select "All accounts" from the account dropdown screen, ignore that message and proceed with QIF import. Find more details on http://www.propersoft.net/CSV2QIF/ (scroll down).

in CSV2QIF, make sure to enter the account NAME exactly as you have  in Quicken before saving the QIF file (and select the account type as CCARD).
