Problems importing into Quickbooks 2012

I have a problem in QuickBooks similar to the one you provided an answer for in Quicken.  I already have a web connect for the bank account I'm trying to enter old transactions for so it doesn't show up on the list of accounts to import to.  I created the buffer acount and imported transactions there.  However, I can't cut and paste the way you described for Quicken.  Am I missing something?  Thanks.

For QuickBooks, the buffer account approach will not work.

To have already "online linked" account listed, edit the account first:

  • open the Chart of accounts
  • select the account you need to import into and select "Edit Account"
  • click on the Online Services tab
  • select "Remove online services link" and save the changes

Try to import the QBO file again, and you should see the account listed on the import dialog
