convert CSV to IIF with splits

We use PayPal to accept donations, and we are trying to convert our PayPal
csv files to iif.

The problem is, CSV2IIF doesn't seem to be able to create split
transactions in the IIF files for the PayPal fees.

Please do the following to convert split transactions:

  • the CSV file has to have the first line as the column headers
  • the split column names (at the first) should be named as you want to appear in QuickBooks (the name of the column will be used in the description for each split transaction)
  • the split columns must have negative amounts for payments from you and positive for payment to you.
  • in CSV2IIF, load the CSV file and click the Review Mapping.
  • assign each split column on the sidebar (Split1, Split2) and save the mapping. Check other columns like Date, payee, memo
  • verify that the transactions grid has expected values for Split1, Split2 columns (scroll horizontally).
  • save the IIF file
