How to import a QIF file into Banktivity

Banktivity imports transactions from QIF files with File > Import Transactions. If your transactions are in another format, such as CSV, Excel or PDF, convert them to QIF with ProperConvert first.

How to import a QIF file into Banktivity

Back up your Banktivity data before importing.

1. Select File, then Import Transactions.
2. Click Import File and select the QIF file.
3. Select the account from the QIF file to import.
4. Click Continue.

Account names must match

Banktivity imports straight into the account named in the QIF file, without asking. Make sure the account name in the file matches the account in Banktivity. If no account with that name exists, Banktivity creates a new one.

After the import

The transactions are now in Banktivity. Review them, then categorize or delete them as needed.
